[PTab=BIOGRAPHY]
THIS IS DO OR DIE
history lesson
Life was dull.
She never really did anything with herself, not really. She got good grades and she cleaned her house, but really, what else was there to do? She was terrible at sports; hated the stuff, really; and couldn't get any friends without ultimately trying to drive every conversation into the subject of video games. That got old fast, with the types of crowds she was trying to fit into. So, in eighth grade, middle-class, Irish-immigrant-born Susanna Seamus O'Seighin faced a dilemma.
She wasn't doing anything.
She was just... there. In the crowd. Sure, she got awards for her academics, but at this point, she just plops them down on the kitchen counter and asks what's for dinner. That's a normal day, for her. There was nothing special about it, she knew her classmates got even more awards than her. So she was a run-of-the-mill background character, which wasn't half bad, but wasn't half good either. It was really, just... there.
She went to school at Regency Academy, famous place that it was. Being an honors student, she had a good chance to get in, especially since she lived next to the bloody place. She went into the school, and found a fairly well-planned curriculum and really, really nice uniforms. But it was still boring, and she still didn't have friends. After a dull, boring freshman year, she surfed the internet as to what she was going to do, and then she found something that caught her eye. Within a month, she was recording herself playing games and talking over it like she was some sort of crazy person.
Went by the name Irestrike, hardy-har-har. Would fit, given her slight accent she picked up from her parents. What caught her by surprise, however, was her stunningly increasing popularity. 100 subscribers became 500, which became 5,000, which suddenly became 300,000 within a year. She's asked her fanbase (she has a fanbase! she has a fanbase!) as to why this is. Some say it's her accent, contralto voice, and how she flatly sees thing as they are. Some say it's how she directly rushes towards the enemy in horror games instead of screaming like a sissy girl. Some say it's how she's actually good at the game! Some say it's all of those, combined. Either way, she ascended to 500,000 subscribers by the second semester of her sophomore year, which caught her completely by surprise.
Suddenly, life wasn't so dull anymore.
She'd started to actually gain revenue off of this, could you believe it? She didn't know what to do with it, so she sent it all to charity. Even more, she sent screenshots of her donations to the fans through a social media account. Apparently, this made her even more likeable by the fans; proved she was human, unlike other personalities, apparently. In this excitement, however, Suzy started worrying for herself. What if she messed up? What if something terrible happened to her account, what if she disappointed the fans? Goodness, she was too new at all this 'internet personality' stuff.
The fans supported her, though. In her sophomore year, they made her all sorts of talented art which warmed her heart, and when she took a video to show her appreciation and share her concerns, they always showed compassion. There were some toxic fans, but it seemed like her fanbase was self-curing, self-immunizing against those people. In some strange fashion. She supposes that's how she kept doing what she kept doing, keeping to her own style. Closing in on 950,000 subscribers, Suzy hopes to make a million before her junior year ends. But the nerve-wracking concept of channel longevity is beginning to wear on her nerves...
extra credit
As of this app, Suzy has 943,840 subscribers on YouTube as Irestrike. She streams on a regularly scheduled basis, and also has a Twitter account which shows all her donations to various charities.
Suzy plays mainstream games, but her signature is being fairly good at the games she plays, while also providing hilariously snarky commentary. In addition, she's infamous for her nonplussed reactions to horror games. Seriously, they're just polygons to her. Suzy never uses a facecam, but has shown pictures of herself from time to time. In addition, she's showed ability in competitive gaming, particularly shooters.
Suzy's character concept is based off of various internet personalities such as Cr1tikal, ImmortalHD, and SSoHPKC, as well as several others.
