if you call me anything other than ms. gates, you're out of here. now, get your notebooks out, we'll be reviewing the pre-calc-trig material you should have learned last year, if you paid any attention at all.
ranging from limits to integration, gates will be teaching content most likely on the ap exam. they will be taking practice ap exams throughout the year in preparation.
calculus ab is aimed at students that have completed pre-calculus and are hoping to attain college credit. mostly seniors fill the desks of gates' classroom, but it isn't unheard of to have a sprinkling of juniors. regardless of the student's grade, the workload is rough and the pace fast.
the desks are grouped into threes and facing the corner of the room, where a smartboard is located. there is a dry erase board in the front of the room and a chalkboard that she doesn't use in the back. textbooks, lessons plans, and miscellaneous papers are scattered throughout the room, as if having been haphazardly thrown in any which direction. gates' desk is located in the corner nearest to the door. behind the desk is a coffee maker, a mini-fridge, and a microwave.
