BUT NOW I'VE SEEN THE PAY-OFFS EVERYWHERE I LOOK
history lesson
-Lacie grew up in an average, loving household with two mothers who spoiled her rotten. Well, maybe not rotten since Lacie likes to think she turned out okay after all this time, but still, she was pampered much like you'd expect from an only child.
-She faced a bit of discrimination from other kids when they found out she didn't have a dad, but she tried her best not to let it bother her and show her parents she was strong enough to handle it. Eventually it died down, and even if people were still uncomfortable for whatever reason, at least they didn't say anything.
-She also used to have a childhood friend who hung out with her all the time.
-But then Lacie had to move, and after promising to write to each other they lost contact after the first few emails. Lacie never figured out why, but she's tried to remain optimistic and fill in the blanks herself with anything but the conclusion they didn't want to speak to her.
-When she reached middle school her grades made her stay back a year, and since then Lacie has worked hard to make sure it never happens again. She got into Regency to make her parents proud of her and to prove that even though she'd had to stay back she can still get into a school like Regency. Sure she got in by the skin of her teeth, but she still got in right?

Lacie may work hard for school, and she may be terrified of failing, but that doesn't mean she actually likes studying.
