INTO THE NOTHING LEAVE ME AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THERE'S NOTHING LEFT T-This was pathetic. He was pathetic. He had barely been able to run forward a couple of steps before his roommate caught him from around the waist. He was jerked back in one swift motion, thrown off his feet, and the wind being knocked out of him. Rationally, logically, he should have been horrified at what Joshua kept doing to him. He should have been enraged. He should have seen the situation in the same light as everyone else. But, aside from the panic, from the desperation, from the way he was nearly hyperventilating—not a single ounce of concern went toward his actions. He didn’t feel in danger or threatened—but neither did he even recognize or acknowledge those facts.
His roommate’s arm around his waist was large and powerful, and kept him pressed back against his body. The keys he had been holding were suddenly ripped from him and hurled across the room. The sound of them hitting the wall and falling to the floor was nearly completely masked underneath the pressing sound of his ragged breathing.
He wasn’t in any right state of mind. In fact, he felt completely out of his mind. He felt insane and out of control. He couldn’t compose himself. He was making a fool out of himself—and he couldn’t stop. His desperation and need to leave—to be able to compose himself and remove himself from the person creating all of this chaos—caused him to immediately begin trying to break free of him.

ᴅᴀʏ 1 | 9:00ᴘᴍ | ᴄʟᴏᴜᴅʏ sᴋɪᴇs From a brief moment the only sound heard between them was the ragged breathing of his roommate. Against his arm he could feel the thundering of the boy’s heart and he knew now that the boy was suffering from a panic attack. His actions were irrational and thoughtless. Joshua had not once sensed fear from him only confusion and alarm.
He made a low grunting noise when the boy began shoving forward in an attempt to break free, but Joshua refused to release him. He didn’t know why his name had brought his roommate such hysteria but Joshua had more reason now to not release him while he was trapped in this state of mind.
Joshua exhaled hoarsely as he stubbornly gripped the boy with his other arm and proceeded to carry him towards his bed. The movement was both strained and difficult due to his roommate's constant struggling. His own breathing became ragged as he fought to pin him down onto his back.
“Stop,” Joshua demanded as he held the boy’s hands down against his sides and towered over him. One of his knees was pressed deeply into the bed while his foot remained on the floor for balance. Their position was awkward but the older male hardly noticed during these conditions.

INTO THE NOTHING LEAVE ME AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THERE'S NOTHING LEFT Nothing he did to try and get away mattered. In the end, it wasn’t him who held control over the situation. Brendon found himself being dragged back toward the larger portion of their dorm and awkwardly imprisoned down onto his bed. His breathing remained harsh and quick, but as he laid there with his arms being pinned down and Joshua continuing to command him… he could feel himself trying to harden away his emotions. He could also feel… the sting within his eyes as he realized just how vulnerable he had made himself. He had exposed himself in a way he had never, ever, shown anyone else.
And he had done so with his roommate. He would have to suffer and live with these consequences for the rest of the year. That thought alone almost sent him spiraling back into another frenzy of hysteria and panic.

ᴅᴀʏ 1 | 9:00ᴘᴍ | ᴄʟᴏᴜᴅʏ sᴋɪᴇs Despite everything…in this moment…he still yearned for his name. He wanted to address him by his name. Joshua almost felt as though he knew it…but he quickly dismissed such a foolish notion. He was certain that he had never seen this boy before in his life… All of his features were intense enough to never forget.
His emerald looked him over…but his eyes easily began wandering lower…to the opening of his shirt. He felt the same tension as before course through him as he took in the delicate color of his skin. But he quickly grew irritable and forced himself to look away.
The boy had listened to him, but the panic was still there resting beneath the surface. Joshua had questions for him…questions he refrained from asking due to the situation. He hated the way they had met and the scene that had arose between them now. It made him feel…as though he owed his roommate something for causing him such stress…but he stubbornly refused to acknowledge those feelings.
“Rest…” he mumbled almost angrily as he reluctantly began releasing his wrists. He drew back slowly, but kept his gaze on him. He felt…compelled by this boy and he hated it…because of how much those feelings…controlled him.

INTO THE NOTHING LEAVE ME AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THERE'S NOTHING LEFT There was a shrilling ring going off within his ears as his heart continued to pump at a rate that was faster than normal. The scene that he had been trapped within haunted him. It humiliated him. How had this happened? What had even gone on? His roommate—Joshua—was a brute. He was violent and physical. He was demanding and domineering. Brendon could hardly believe that the male had locked him in his hold and had forcefully dragged him to his bed. He had refused to allow him to leave the dorm room and he had thrown his pair of keys across the damn room.
Why hadn’t any of that registered? Those facts should have been one of the first things to occur to him. Yet, this entire time he had only felt hysterical and panicked. He had acknowledged the fact that he was being stopped, that he was being controlled, and those things had furthered his descent into the chaos that had unfolded.
But, he hadn’t felt threatened. Even now, as his mind began to clear and his breathing slowed down, he didn’t feel fearful. Perhaps it was his stubbornness or maybe he really just didn’t give a damn about himself any longer. He had made a fool out of himself. He had exposed himself in a way he had never wanted… anyone to see. And all because… because of the emotions he had felt when his roommate had spoken up.
It couldn’t have been his name. It couldn’t have been his voice—It was all coincidence. Everything had merely been a coincidence. Those emotions had reared their ugly head at the most inopportune moment and he had understandably freaked the hell out. And when his roommate had fought with him and imprisoned him within the dorm… his panic had exploded into desperation and then chaos.
“Just who do you think you are?” He finally spoke up begrudgingly and his bravado returned. His gaze narrowed into a glare as he stared up at Joshua who still towered over him like the brute he was.

ᴅᴀʏ 1 | 9:00ᴘᴍ | ᴄʟᴏᴜᴅʏ sᴋɪᴇs The two of them remained silent as they watched each other and everything around them felt as though it had been eradicated from existence. He had just met this person today…and from the moment he saw him…Joshua had felt some form of strain. Even before he had seen him…he had felt uneasy entering his dormitory.
“Just who do you think you are?”
The iciness within the boy’s tone had returned and Joshua could sense his anger once more. Joshua stared down at him for a moment longer, but he could offer him no answer. He didn’t need to explain himself and held no regret. If the situation arose again he would repeat this vicious cycle.
“Give me your name,” Joshua returned, but his voice was low. The anger that had once laced his own features had subsided…and now he was merely attentive towards the stranger that lay beneath him.

INTO THE NOTHING LEAVE ME AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THERE'S NOTHING LEFT “Give me your name.”
Once again his roommate, Joshua Ardel, demanded things from him. Brendon remained laying down on his bed, his back pressed into the soft fabric of his comforter. But, his body was tense and his expression was stiff. His gaze roamed over the features of his roommate’s face and he didn’t want to acknowledge the fact that the other male’s name still made him feel strange things. Joshua Ardel. The name caused tingles to rise within him in odd places.
However, Brendon wanted some form of his own control—and withholding his name came as the answer for him. It was something that Joshua had demanded twice, and Brendon refused to give up the information. He liked knowing the other male’s name but Joshua not having the same in return.
“No,” He told him and even smirked with scornful amusement.

ᴅᴀʏ 1 | 9:00ᴘᴍ | ᴄʟᴏᴜᴅʏ sᴋɪᴇs His emerald gaze narrowed as he waited impatiently for an answer. Had he known this stranger would so fiercely withhold his identity…he would have refrained from giving him his own name.
Joshua’s expression faltered when the other male boldly refused him and tempted his temper once more by smirking defiantly at him. The rejection instantly caused Joshua to become angry as he squeezed one of his hands into a fist and glared down at his roommate.
At first…his lips parted as though he were going to protest further…but he paused as his gaze moved towards the boy’s bag which was hanging on his desk chair. Joshua’s expression remained hard as he drew it back to his roommate and wait to see if he’d attempt to stop him.

INTO THE NOTHING LEAVE ME AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THERE'S NOTHING LEFT Brendon didn’t understand his roommate at all. Why was he so angry, so temperamental and quiet all of the time? Their meeting hadn’t been ordinary in the slightest. The way that Joshua acted was… was ridiculous. Brendon could see the spark of anger within his roommate’s emerald gaze and he felt his own stomach tighten as he continued to watch him. He had no idea what he was capable of doing next. Brendon felt as though the two of them had laid out a warpath—but why? …Why?
“Don’t you dare go through my things,” He warned the other male when he noticed him purposely pausing to glance over toward his computer desk. The reminder of what he had actually done earlier caused his heart to skip a beat. “Joshua,” He added and his smirk returned as he continued to watch him.

ᴅᴀʏ 1 | 9:00ᴘᴍ | ᴄʟᴏᴜᴅʏ sᴋɪᴇs “Don’t you dare go through my things,” his roommate warned him. Joshua had never met someone so stubborn or bold before. Others would challenge him physically or verbally, but their grudge would never last. Eventually they would just give in to what Joshua wanted…and that was to be left alone…
But this boy…simply proceeded to antagonize him despite being physically overpowered by him. His roommate seemed to hold no hesitation in riling up his temper. Even with barely knowing him he had stepped out of their dormitory to yell at Joshua when he was fighting with another student.
His jaw tensed when the boy said his name with another scornful smirk. But his attitude only fueled Joshua to disobey him. His emerald gaze hardened as he actually lowered down and pressed his hand right beside his head. Joshua wanted him to be intimidated…but to also learn that he would never hold control over him. He then pushed down into the mattress and began getting up to do exactly what the boy had told him not to.

INTO THE NOTHING LEAVE ME AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THERE'S NOTHING LEFT In retaliation, Joshua leaned forward and braced his weight against the bed as his larger form crowded his own. The movement and the piercing glare of his roommate’s gaze reminded Brendon of the scene at the front door. Joshua had done the same thing, forcing him back inside in the exact same way. His roommate’s nearness was a bit… unnerving. It was unnerving in an uncomfortable way and caused Brendon to want space. What kind of roommate had he gotten? Joshua was older than him—he could tell from looks alone—and that made him wonder if he had been here a year or two already. And, if so, how the hell had his other roommates taken his behavior? How had this not yet become an issue?
Joshua lifted from the bed and Brendon instantly jerked himself up into a seated position. If his roommate was going to be controlling, going to be physical, and violent—then he damn well was going to be the same. His roommate fully straightened and Brendon launched himself from the bed and attempted to shove Joshua down onto his own mattress. Two could play this game.

ᴅᴀʏ 1 | 9:00ᴘᴍ | ᴄʟᴏᴜᴅʏ sᴋɪᴇs His roommate hastily began sitting up but his movement held no effect over him. Joshua merely turned with every intention to search his bag. He held such…hatred for those who when through his own things…but none of that stopped him now. Joshua held no care for the boy’s privacy and only fed into his own selfish needs. But he was met with a surprise…when his roommate attacked him.
Joshua’s attention jerked back towards the chocolate brown haired boy as he was shoved backwards. His emerald gaze was wide with shock as his heart picked up speed. Everything happened so quickly…
He could feel the mattress of his bed pressing firmly into his back…as his roommate hovered over him. His expression…was still so cold…and fueled with the same anger that tainted every inch of his own life. Something inside him began stirring to the surface, but he wouldn’t allow those feelings to reveal themselves. Instead he allowed the position to ignite his temper in order to regain the control that had been taken from him.

INTO THE NOTHING LEAVE ME AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THERE'S NOTHING LEFT Brendon reached forward to grasp firmly onto his roommate’s upper arm, and with his own arm raised he pressed into his chest and shoved Joshua backward in one swift motion. His heartbeat picked up and for a couple of seconds he felt uncertain of his own actions. He questioned them, questioned what he was doing, but just as quickly his determination returned. Did it really matter when his roommate acted so irrationally himself? He could do anything he damned well pleased and he would still be unmatched when it came to Joshua’s actions.
The fifteen year old freshmen went down with the other male and they both landed onto the bed. As his heart pumped heatedly within his chest, Brendon instantly stabilized his position and continued to apply pressure to Joshua’s chest while he held his other arm down. He could hear his own shuddered breathing in the silence of the room, and he continued to pin his roommate down in a similar manner as what had been done to himself.
“You can’t get away with pushing me around,” He told him on slightly bated breath. His amber gaze had locked with Joshua’s emerald eyes as he was now the one towering over him. “I’m not someone you can control.”

ᴅᴀʏ 1 | 9:00ᴘᴍ | ᴄʟᴏᴜᴅʏ sᴋɪᴇs “You can’t get away with pushing me around.”
Joshua paused in his attempt to get up in order to take in his roommate’s words. He listened…as he was told that he couldn’t control him. They were both fighters in their own way…they were similar…
He had acted so…irrational and forceful. It was something he did to those who bothered him…and his roommate had unconsciously done that to him. But he had no reason to continue this aggression. They would have to find some middle ground since the two of them would be rooming with each other for the rest of the year…
But Joshua rejected the notion of giving in. His pride prevented him from allowing himself to runaway like he had during their first meeting. He felt challenged by him and that fueled his aggression.
“Give me what I want…and I’ll stop,” Joshua returned darkly as his piercing emerald gaze narrowed on him.

INTO THE NOTHING LEAVE ME AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THERE'S NOTHING LEFT “Give me what I want… and I’ll stop.” The dark response from Joshua caused a moment of pause from the brunette. He watched his roommate closely for a prolonged moment—but kept his hold on him firm and unyielding. Brendon didn’t trust him for a minute. His roommate’s overbearing tendency to control and dominate everything around him left him highly skeptical. Not only that, but Joshua had already proven to him that he was much stronger and bigger, and thus more capable of the control he wanted. Such a simple statement wouldn’t pacify him.
“Prove it to me,” Brendon demanded in return. “If you can actually be a civilized roommate then I’ll reward you with my name.”
He shouldn’t have been taunting the other. He should have been trying to negotiate with him in order to have peace. But, he had been pushed so far that the seething comments were spilling from his lips before he could think better to hold his temper back. He had little more to offer him outside of his name—which was an easily obtainable piece of information as it was.
