[attr=class, modernlover] | [attr=class, herkiss]and her kiss the colour of a constellation falling into place [attr=class, arabella]arabella, [attr=class, passengerside]A warm, salty breeze brought a sense of calm from beyond the oceanic horizon. Above the world, the barely waxing moon cast enough light to make the water glitter. In all, it was a gorgeous sight. The sky was particularly clear, as it had been all day. Even the numerous beach-goers that had been hanging around to catch crabs were far enough away that they didn't disturb her. Chalk that up in the 'win' column. Something about the sentimentality of the night had her mind wandering. As someone who never let her mind get away from her, with the scene around her it was all the pinkette could do to stay focused on the crashing of waves and the crackling fire before her aquamarine eyes. Alis wrapped her trademark purple zip-up hoodie around herself, clutching tightly to the thin fabric and cursing herself for not bringing another shirt to throw on. She had spent the afternoon by the sea, her favorite place to unwind. Swimming, surfing, catching fish... There wasn't anything like it. Summer was coming to an end, giving way to the dawn of her junior year. Even though she enjoyed having the whole gang together at Regency, the loss of her balmy freedom was enough to make a new level of detest rise in her chest. As if being a poor student wasn't bad enough, the teachers had all but given up on her. Academically she was a lost cause, personally she was a walking disaster. The looks on most of the professors faces when she took her seat in the back wasn't one they hid well. She could practically feel their unease like the layer of salt settling on her skin. Staring into the fire, she caught herself getting lost in thought again. It wasn't like her to be alone, in reality she hated not having constant human interaction. She didn't have a sob story childhood, or any real reason to be the way she was, but somewhere along the line her personality became latched to the people she was around. The trouble she caused and the ruckus had always been about getting noticed. Her mother called it 'acting out', but really she just wanted someone to see her. She would have done just about anything to fit in, so as soon as she caught wind of the gang she joined as soon as she could. Now they were some of her closest companions. They would steal and vandalize, but they were a family. Just a... slightly more dysfunctional one. It wasn't always all bad, though. After all she wouldn't have met Alexander if it hadn't been for her bold stunts at school. Picking up a handful of sand, she let it run through her fingers before digging her bare feet in. Her hair had become curled, and some strands fell in her face, so she flicked her head to the side in order to rid them from her vision. Then, diligently, she began to bury her feet while she listened to the ebb and flow of the sea, mind lost in thought while her hands built castles of sand. |
