after several years of just being a name hovering around the halls, ziba finally took up the chance to try and leave some kind of legacy behind before she graduated. thus, the otaku club was born. ziba as the president seems to step out of her usually detached persona to bloom into a more enthusiastic person when amongst her fellow fans. she is happy to show anyone interested in the matter the greatness of anime and manga, but she insists all club members call her kaichou.
with a very much laid back atmosphere, all level of fans are welcomed amongst the club as ziba will personally slap anyone who says "you're not a true fan because [blank]" with a ruler. she welcomes everyone who approaches her club and even has a habit of giving every member some sort of nickname once she's a bit more familiar with them. this is supposed to be a happy good legacy she wants to leave behind, not toxic waste. gamers are welcome as well, even if a gamer club is started up else where on campus. ziba attempts to ensure the club is a place in which her loyal members can gush on and on about any of their favorite animes without others mocking them for it. because of the assumptions typically made about anime being more or less just mountains of perverse content, ziba tries to help keep the more secretive "closet otaku" fans' identities secret by establishing the fight club rule. don't talk about otaku club.
club activities more or less involve watching anime together, reading manga together, drawing, writing, playing video games, and even creating or sharing fan content of certain series. to stay in line with the school's more or less required educational purposes for clubs, ziba tries to encourage learning story development, the differences between american and japanese media, the creative members to get really good with their art, and so forth. there are times where the club will get really off subject if something of interest comes up, like rumors of some kind of mystery lingering around the halls. ziba likes to dub these "potential manga arc starter points!" and assures that the seemingly random exploits are totally legitimate.
in one of the many computer labs, after class hours on thursdays, the anime club swiftly takes over and many of the members know how to bypass school set firewalls to properly stream all kinds of content. the classroom features a projector as well so during gaming tournaments amongst the members, when everyone has decided to watch the same anime, or when ziba wishes to give some kind of speech or start a discussion about which animes they wish to watch the following season, the projector sees a lot of use. it's a pretty basic computer lab set up, along with a tv as well for the console gamers to bicker over.
