SENPAI HAS NOTICED YOU! Is what Ziba would say the moment Raine's love for anime and manga is revealed in any shape or fashion. The type of relationship I imagine these two could have almost seems like they'd be the couple of girls at the end of a crowded hall that you could hear over the crowd on the other end as they get wound up from each other's excitement about a common interest. By themselves, Raine is an intense person by her energy and friendliness while Ziba is just a bit on the odd side. Combine them and it's an intense moment where most people can only sit and stare as these girls get lost in their rambles. Ziba is also starting up an Otaku Club so y'know, Raine should totally check that out.

Given how Raine looks and acts - as you put it, a preppy nerd - I'd almost imagine Ziba would view her as some sort of shoujo protagonist. As Raine's self-declared senpai, Ziba might even make it her goal to find some aloof hot guy to kick start Raine's shoujo romance and fawn over from a distance. There will probably be times where Ziba introduces Raine as a shoujo heroine or Bishoujo Raine-chan! to other otakus that Ziba knows.

The way they meet could go one of two ways, probably. The first way I imagine was Raine in the process of scoping out the school's very little manga section of the library and bumping accidentally into Ziba who notices the series Raine's holding. Cue Ziba immediately commenting about it and it steam rolls into these two getting so excited about finding a fellow fan for this series they nearly get kicked out of the library for causing a scene. Ziba probably will show off her huge collection of anime merchandise in her dorm room to Raine as a sort of "I approve of you, my little kouhai." thing.

The other way is during one of Ziba's bizarre means of trying to get recruits for the otaku club. One of the ways might be her walking around the school in various cosplay, doing something dumb and dangerous for attention, or maybe she saw Raine reading a manga in the hall and sends her a secret message of some sort that instructs her to come to the computer lab on x day, which turns out to be the day the Otaku Club meets up there. What a coincidence!

But, if you have other ideas or routes you'd like to go with this, I'm all ears. A kouhai - senpai relationship between them just seemed too cute to pass up. [attr="id","tpost"]
