POSITIVE - cheerful - spunky - passionate - disciplined - outgoing Anyone who meets Kat usually leaves with a smile on their face. She's happy-go-lucky, and at times too silly for her own good. Her favorite thing to do is make others laugh, even at her own expense. Some see her as a ditz because of her grades and demeanor, but she's simply not academically inclined. Her art weighs over her studies, and she spends long hours in the studio whenever she gets time. She is the type who wouldn't hurt a fly, and will bring just about anyone into her friends circle. While she has many companions at school, her trusted circle is pretty tight. | LIKES - animals - the arts - sunny days - the beach - sweets DISLIKES - the dark - storms - small spaces - coconuts - deep water | NEGATIVE - naive - anxious - impulsive - enigmatic - stubborn Her sweet, oblivious exterior hides a deep well of emotion. She often puts on a front of joy to conceal the inner turmoil she feels over her mothers illness. Sometimes, very rarely, someone close to her might catch a glimmer of her anxiety or fear. Just as quickly as it appears, it would be carefully masked again. It isn't for the intent of being malicious, she just simply doesn't want anyone to know about her situation or worry about her. Because of this, she's slightly difficult to understand as her actions occasionally reflect her anxiety more than her mask of happiness. |

BUT NOW I'VE SEEN THE PAY-OFFS EVERYWHERE I LOOK
history lesson
• Growing up in the same town as the school, she has many friends from her younger days at Regency. A few are in her trusted circle still, but most have branched into different social groups.
• When she was in 7th grade, her parents decided to get a divorce. They split by the end of the school year, and her father moved away the following year to be with his new girlfriend in another state. He keeps in touch with Kat still, and they're very close.
• In 10th grade, Kat's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her father had circumstances that prevented him from moving back, but he supports as much as he can. Katlyn took on 2 jobs outside of school to help with the bills. She continues to work at a local coffee shop, and also at the local library. It was around this time her studies started slipping.
• Now as a senior, she is the president of the Art Club at Regency. She takes it very seriously, and hopes to get a painting scholarship to the local Fine Arts university. She just has to bring her grades up before any colleges will look at her works, and with her 2 jobs outside of her studies, it's been difficult.
extra credit
• She currently lives with her mother in a small 2-bedroom townhouse close to campus. She has one pet, a black tabby named Lola, that she adores. She was a present from her most recent ex-boyfriend.
• Kat has a small tattoo just underneath her right breast that reads 'serendipity' in a cursive style font. Her mother has a matching one on her ankle. They got them together when her mother was diagnosed with cancer.
• Her father keeps in touch over the phone, but is unable to visit due to his financial situation. Their relationship is strained with the weight of her mothers illness, but he does what he can.
• The only person at the school who she legitimately dislikes is her most recent ex. He threatened her when they broke up, and she keeps her distance from him as best she can.
