tried it on but it didn’t fit me so
found a better pair of shoes to walk
Ricky leaned his head against the brick wall of the school, laptop in his lap and his phone laying beside him. A small box was seated to the other side of him, a light blanket that had been covering the top was now on the ground. On the side of the box, sat a proud robin, twittering away, its head swiveling this way and that. The boy glanced down at the robin, holding his finger out, which the bird gladly hopped onto. "Koro-chan, you should probably head back to your home, I'm sure your family misses you..." his voice was soft, not necessarily that he was worried someone would hear him talking to a bird; it was just his usual tone of voice. The robin chirped again, staring at Ricky, before spreading its wings and fluttering away. There was a small part of him that knew deep down that the bird would be back. At least, that was his hope...
He roused himself, blinking back to the present, as he stared at his screen, at his newest project. Tabs of the person's social networks and profiles were all over Ricky's screen. He had recently hacked a weirdo from the street; Ricky had seen the guy trying to sweet-talk a girl, though the girl was apparently not having it. In the end, it had ended with a loud fight, the guy having slugged the girl. Ricky hadn't done anything about it. What could he do? Physically, he wasn't much, though mentally... well, that was a different story.
Yes, he was a hero in the digital world; here, he was a in-training god. Soon, soon he would be able to work his way up to hacking companies that had wronged others in one way or another. But for now, he was content with hacking people's computers and or phones. It was a work in progress, though he would get to the end, he could see it...
The only problem with this plan was that he had to never log onto the school's wi-fi; he had rigged his phone with unlimited data and used that constantly as his source of power. If the school ever found out about this, he was sure to get kicked out. Ricky had to constantly look over his shoulder, just in case someone was nearby. He had found the perfect spot, it was a quiet place near one of the old classrooms, that was usually used for study halls. It had taken awhile, though he had finally figured out what times of the day and which days it actually was used; it was a fool-proof plan.
