L.O.V.E IS JUST ANOTHER WORD I NEVER LEARNED TO PRONOUNCE The final move in day of Kimi’s Regency Academy career had finally come. While unpacking boxes certainly wasn’t to most exciting thing to do, the girl was ecstatic nonetheless. She was officially one step closer to graduating and getting onto more important parts of her life. But she had to of course, first finish out her senior year strong. With her eyes set on the position of valedictorian at years end, nothing was going to stop her. Not even this Katlyn Deveaux roommate she was supposed to have. Regency was an academy of prestigious history and students, yet Kimi felt like it could have been any old heavily funded public high school with dorms at times. Her roommate freshman year was the dullest knife in the drawer. If she was a knife she probably wouldn’t even have been able to cut through hot butter. The whole year turned into “Avoid Aida” because the ditz always had a truckload of dumb, simple questions to ask that Kimi wasn’t willing to answer. Things could only get better, or so Kimi thought. Sophomore year Kimi was met with an academically average roomie but had the maturity of a five year old. The next year a dreamy artist got paired with her. Art? Really? Did she think that she could really make a good career out of that? If the girl could have things her way, she would choose to love alone but despite her haggling Kimi found herself still bound to the academy rules. After a pretty bad string, the girl was hopeful that maybe she was going to get a decent roommate this year, especially considering it was her last. But something told her she was really going to have no such luck. With a sigh, Kimi continued unpacking and waited for this Katlyn girl to arrive. notes: hope this is okay! tags: KATLYN DEVEAUXHOW DO I SAY I'M SORRY 'CAUSE THE WORD IS NEVER GONNA COME OUT?

don't you love it when it all STARTS TO DROP and there's nothing here to stop me Finally, it was move in day. All over campus the students were bustling back and forth between their vehicles and their future dorms. Boxes, plastic bins, entire futons, and whatever else were strewn across the green space in front of the student housing. The clamor was practically tangible, classmates in various stages of the moving process toting their belongings up to their rooms alongside beaming parents. It was easy to spot the freshmen, all bright-eyed at the sight of the towering buildings. For most of them, it was their first experience away from home. As she lifted a box from the trunk of her mother's car, she couldn't help but remember the first time she had seen Regency Academy. It was definitely a nostalgia trip for her. This was the last time she would be moving in to these dorms and living on this campus. Next year she would be off, hopefully to art school, to pursue her dream of becoming a famous painter. It was a bittersweet moment due to her mothers absence, but Katlyn had insisted on moving in herself. Her mother was still too ill to even think about lifting boxes up and down the stairs, but Kat had promised to take tons of pictures and text her with a play by play of the excitement. Stepping up onto the landing, the pink-haired girl emerged from the stairwell. With a backpack slung over her shoulder and a large box of knickknack's resting on her hip, she carefully avoided colliding with her fellow floor-mates. Thankfully she had the sense to pull her hair up; the heat of all the added bodies in the small halls had brought the temperatures to sweltering levels. Dressed comfortably in a plain black tank-top and gym shorts, she still couldn't keep herself cool in the packed dorm. When she finally reached her door, she was lightly panting from the heat and exertion. Moving by herself was probably not the smartest idea she'd ever had, but she would never admit that out loud. Peeking inside, she spotted her new roommate. "Hey, roomie!" she chirped as she entered the space they would share for the next school year. Hopefully this would be better than the last situation. Kat's previous cohabitant was an absolute slob, leaving food and dirty laundry all over every surface in the area. It had stressed her out so much, on top of everything else going on, that she actually snapped at the poor girl. Unfortunately, the living situation never improved, and it was painfully awkward for the rest of the year. Setting the box down and shrugging off her backpack, she turned to offer a smile to the other girl. "I'm Katlyn, but you can call me Kat. It's nice to meet you!" She tried to be friendly without being too chipper off the bat; she had a bad habit of being overeager when meeting new people.

L.O.V.E IS JUST ANOTHER WORD I NEVER LEARNED TO PRONOUNCE Being her fourth time moving, it wasn’t taking Kimi long at all to unpack her things. Not to mention the meticulously organized boxes her things were packed in were helping the process along just as well. Not wanting to dawdle and wait around in the hot room, Kimi had already started claim the side of the room with the windows. She figured since she was there first she didn’t have to feel bad about taking it without asking. You snooze, you lose. Where was her roommate anyways? It seemed late to barely start moving in by now, but then again Kimi wasn’t one to procrastinate and waste time. Quickly, Kimi’s side of the room came together, and after plugging in a fan and popping open the windows, she started to organize the odds and ends like her desk and closet. All of the banging and shouting going on around he dorms became white noise as Kimi sorted pens on her desk. Everything had its place. The desk was just about sorted until a voice startled the girl, causing a few pencils to go flying. The girl picked them p before turning around to see her roommate who wasted no time in introducing herself. At first glance, the bright pink hair made Kimi raise her brow. Why pink of all colors? Such a needlessly loud color. She wasn’t another artist was she? “Likewise,” Kimi began, hiding her sarcastic tone. She was unsure of what to think of this Kat girl just yet. She seemed almost too eager to be meeting her roommate. Kimi just viewed having a roommate as an annoying necessity, but maybe this girl was hoping to become friends or something. Unfortunately for Katlyn she had just about the most unfriendly roommate at Regency. “You may address me as Kim. I anticipate that you aren’t disconcerted with me having already initiated unpacking,” said the girl. It wasn't like she would change anything if she was uncomfortable, but Kimi just wanted to get a gauge on this new roommate of her as quickly as possible. notes: sorry for the wait tags: KATLYN DEVEAUXHOW DO I SAY I'M SORRY 'CAUSE THE WORD IS NEVER GONNA COME OUT?
